Project Proposal

Candidate Declaration - I confirm that the attached portfolio is all my own work* and does not include any work completed by anyone other than myself

Section 1 - Before college I had never gotten on a stage before. I only did drama in year 7 and 8 as my new school didn't provide it. During college I have learnt so much. Main examples would be, to perform on a stage, to learn lines, to be confident in myself. Another thing I learnt is that not always being a main part is a good thing because I went from being Aunt Em to getting the role of Amy March and I think if I had started with a main role and wasn't ready my journey would of been very different.

Section 2 - For this project I will be playing the part of Amy March, this means I will have to learn the lines in the script and also learn an American accent. I will also need to learn the motivations of the character and her characteristics of Amy, what I mean by this is that she is a 12 year old girl in the first part of the play so I will need to start thinking about how I want to play that and start playing around with ideas in my rehearsals and after that I will start to think about how I can change her characteristics to show that she has gotten older throughout the play. I will also be researching how they present themselves and the etiquette as this play is set in the 1860's and before and after the civil war and the way they speak and walk is completely different to now. As I am on the production team for costume I will also be researching what they wore in them times, why they dressed the way they did. So we can start giving ideas to people to be able to sort our costumes out for our play.

Section 3 - To evaluate my work I will write a daily blog to keep up with my rehearsals everyday and document what I do throughout the weeks. I will then write a full evaluation after my performance stating what went well and what could of gone better. I will add others feedback also so it is fully evaluated.
