Year 1 Half term 4 - Week 4

20/03/23 - re-recording old times.

Today we re-recorded the show, this is because we didn’t want to send off a video with errors in. For this we performed the show again for the makeup artists and film students so we would have an audience. This performance went a lot better and my scene wasn’t cut out! It was great to know that we were able to turn this around and really show everyone why we were casted for this show. 

21/03/23 - showing our practitioners PowerPoint.

In this lesson it was time to share our presentation. Alayah and I were second on the list to show our presentation. So we watched the first one and then went to the front of the classroom and logged on ready to go. We each read out a slide until we got to the activity part. We did Stanisvlaski so I created a task where you would be given a number 1-4 which decided what you would be acting as, 1- pregnant women, 2- serial killer, 3- flamingo and 4- Kane. Then you had to use the methods that Stanisvlaski created to perform your character. To make sure people would want to participate we made it into a competition and whoever performed the best character in each group would win. The winners were, Dev (pregnant women), Sophia (serial killer), Jack (flamingo) and Gracie (Kane).

22/03/23 - problem solving scene.

Today we were given ‘Dear Abby…’ scenes. This is where someone with a problem messages Abby and she responds with a solution. Kelly asked us to get into groups of three for this so I grouped with Alayah and Sophia. We then got our scene. Our scene was two friends who have fallen out and one of the friends didn’t know if she should still go to a concert with her. The mum is the one who asked for help in this situation so she could tell her daughter what to do. The solution was that she didn’t go because the bad friends was described as rude and arrogant and always made fun of the other one. We liked this scene but wanted to switch things up a bit to make it more interesting. We did this by doing it Judge Judy style. Instead of the mum we would have a judge who Alayah played and the two friends would be going to court because the bad friend who I played wanted the concert tickets back since she payed for them and her ex best friend who Sophia played, wasn't going anymore. We thought this would be funny because it’s really dumb to go to court over concert tickets.

23/03/23 - Reading through Little Women and The last resort.

Today we did a group read through of our new plays ‘Little Women’ and ‘The last resort’ we did this by sitting in a circle and if you wanted to read you would jump in for that part. We read half way through Little Women first and then read all of The last resort as it’s a shorter play.
