Year 1 Half term 1- Week 6

17/10/2022 - Christmas carol, muppets and the Globe.

In this lesson we completed the first song and 'choreo' for the performance "A Christmas carol, muppets". This was so Tom could see the complete piece and make sure we knew all the steps correctly and we looked professional. 

After this we rehearsed for the Globe so we could show Josh our plan for our tour and make sure he approved. This meant I could go all out and show Kelly what I'm capable of as I want her to consider for bigger roles in the future. One thing I would change about today was who our bartender was, although jack is a great actor we rehearsed our scene with mark so it didn't flow as nicely when trying to show Josh our creation. 

18/10/2022 - globe rehearsals.

In this lesson we rehearsed for the globe by going over our lines. Since i knew my lines for the role of the 'girl' i rehearsed my lines for 'the witches'. i did this because i knew i needed to work on remembering my paragraph correctly so it sounded like i had just said it from knowledge. For this I had keira help me out by making sure i stayed on track and didn't stop trying even if i messed up. i then went through both of my parts fully and made sure i knew the movements to each section so the entire thing looked flawless. i found this difficult at first because i did start to get disheartened when i messed up because i knew we only had 3 days to get this right. However i know if  i keep working on it i will get it right in time to perform it, it also helps that i'm really excited for this because it makes me want to keep going. This is why i'm making sure to go for a part that i will really enjoy for OZ.  

After rehearsing i started brainstorming outfit ideas for my character and writing them down so i can show Kelly.

19/10/2022 - globe performance run through.

in today's lesson we did the same thing as yesterday but full out and with everyone. this meant we went through the globe tour completely adding in all characters when it was their turn. When it came to my part of playing the girl it didn't really go to plan as the tour guides didn't know their cues. this is only because we didn't rehearse it with them as they needed to learn there lines. luckily Morgan and Callum were able to pick up were they left from when they figured out where we were in the scene. i'm excited for tomorrow because Kelly said we will be testing out the blood capsules as my character spews up blood. 

20/10/2022 - Globe dress rehearsal.

In this lesson we were asked to bring in costumes we were thinking of wearing for the globe so we could run through the show knowing what our characters would look like so we could really get into there head space. For my character of the girl i brought in a top that i made.

I really enjoyed making this top because it really gave me the chance to become my character fully. 

however i did struggle with my confidence when it came to performing the witches in front of everyone as i felt a bit silly. i think this is because my witch outfit didn't really look like a witch so i couldn't fully become the character. i felt like i was just me doing a witch voice. i know i need to look for something that better fits my character so i can play it correctly and comfortably, i am also excited to get my witch makeup done because i know that will definitely help my performance as well. i also need to work on not blocking myself and being more confident in my acting as i know i can do it i just need to get past felling silly. i think after performing at the globe and showing everyone what i can achieve i will become more confident. 

once i was able to perform the witch piece in front of a few students i still didn't feel like my voice was good enough so im going to work on that over the half term so it is perfect for the globe. It is really important for me to focus and get my head down before the globe so i can give my all and show Kelly i am capable of doing bigger roles.
