Year 1 Half term 1 - Week 5

10/10/2022 - Christmas carol muppets, learning 2 new songs.

In this lesson we went back to learning our section of a Christmas carol muppets. During this we finished the 'choreo' for the first song and went on to learn the other 2 songs. In my opinion this was not my best lesson, I wasn't fully focused and struggled learning the songs as I don't really enjoy it. However this made keeping up difficult so I know I need to be on point next lesson even tho I don't like singing very much so I don't bring the whole performance down. 

11/10/2022 - Filming our copycat scene.

Today was an important lesson because this was our filming day. Because of this we were excused out of lesson and had the whole day to film so we could get it finished. I really enjoyed filming at first because it was fun seeing us all become different people. However as time went on the filming did get a little bit stressful and we didn't finish filming until 6pm. However the scene we chose did consist of 62 shots so I think considering we we're filming for a long time we all did a really good job. I think the only thing I would change would make sure we definitely were all prepared so it could of gone a little more smoothly.

12/10/2022 - Auditions for the Globe.

In this lesson we were told to read through the globe script prior so we could straight into practising before we audition for the part we want. I decided to go the part of the "Girl" I did this because I think her character will be a fun way to catch people's eyes. Even though this character doesn't have multiple lines she has ruptured her stomach so blood will be coming out of my mouth and I will need to act out of breath and hurt so I still think it is an important role. 

For my audition I asked Keira, A'layah and Mark to help me out as they were auditioning as the surrounding characters. After my audition Kelly had no bad feedback and I felt quite proud of myself because I was able to rehearse and audition in front of others without panicking about what they thought. I was later told I got the part. 

13/10/2022 - Read through first part of the Wizard of OZ.

Today's lesson was pretty chill at first as my copycat group was finished, so for the first part of the lesson I was able to practice my lines for the globe and come up with ideas on what my character can do and wear. For example a Top with Paul's face. 

After this we then all sat together and read the first couple of pages of the wizard of OZ together to give us some more insight on who we might want to audition as.
