Year 1 Half term 1 - Week 2

20/9/2022 - Paired scripts, The interrogation.

In this lesson my partner wasn't in so I couldn't continue rehearsing. I also made the mistake of forgetting my script, however I think this worked out for the best as I was able to get a new one. The interrogation, I much preferred this script as it had more depth to it and I felt like I could perform it better. Since I had no one to go over it with I decided to write notes about the script in detail. Giving my opinions on what I think each character would be called and how they would react after each sentence. 

I then messaged A'layah separately and made sure she would be okay if we changed the script as I think it reads better. Once I knew she was on board I sent her my notes and we went over the script in our own time.

21/09/2022 - first look at lonely hearts column.

In this lesson we took our first look at our lonely heart characters. We did this by Kelly giving us a 2-3 line description of a real person. I ended up with "Maria, 40, Glam Gran, young looking and attractive, looking for no strings fun." I was pleased with this character as I felt like I could to do a lot with her back story and why she isn't looking for a serious relationship, however I did struggle with the age at first because I didn't know how a 40 year old would go about finding a friend with benefits. 

Kelly then asked us to think about what our character would be wearing, how their makeup would look etc. As I thought more about how I could become Maria, I decided she would be the CEO of a business as she is a glam Gran so she is wealthy. I then decided she would of gone through a divorce which is why she didn't want anything serious. When thinking about what she was wearing I went with a smart look, Red heels because she is confident and they show that but then a simple black suit with a black pencil skirt and simple makeup with her hair in a neat bun. 

At the end of the lesson we were asked to bring in a prop for next week that will show what's important to our character. I'm thinking about bringing a folder of some sort.

22/09/2022 - first look at copy cat scene. 

In this lesson we took our first look at our copycat scenes. What this means is we a recreating a certain scene from a movie. 

For this we got into groups. My group was Hollie, Megan and Tamara our groups film students and Me, Sophia, Will, Jess, Bailey, Laura, Alan, Gracie and Callum our groups Actors. At first we decided to do a scene from Harry Potter but later changed our minds and went with Marvels Age of Ultron. After we were 100% sure on our scene we decided what characters we would be playing. I wanted to play Maria Hill so I asked our film makers and they said yes. I was happy with my choice of character as she only had one proper line which is what I wanted for my first time In front of the camera. 

After this our group decided what we need and we all went on a shopping trip to bring our scene to life.
